The Mountain Conservation Trust of Georgia (MCTGA) seeks a dynamic and energetic full-time Outreach Coordinator/Administrative Assistant who is committed to conserving the North Georgia mountains and foothills, educating others about the value of land conservation, handling administrative tasks, and fostering relationships with communities throughout the region.

Who we are and what we do

MCTGA is a land trust located in Jasper, Georgia. For the last 35 years, we have been promoting the stewardship of the natural resources and scenic beauty of the mountains and foothills of North Georgia through land protection, advocacy, collaboration, and education. We have protected over 7,500 acres across more than 20 parcels of land in our region through conservation easements and other collaborative efforts.

These mountains and foothills are our front yard as well as our backyard, and we are putting in the time, resources, and effort to help protect them.

What we are seeking

The Outreach Coordinator/Administrative Assistant will work as a member of a small staff to support all MCTGA efforts.

We are seeking someone who:

  • Is committed to environmental conservation and outdoor recreation,
  • Is self-motivated and can work independently,
  • Has strong organizational skills and is detail-oriented,
  • Has experience with customer service and has strong interpersonal skills,
  • Is proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite,
  • Is proficient in communicating through social media platforms,
  • Has experience with or the ability to learn and utilize new software quickly and

    database tools as needed, and

  • Is comfortable creating and making presentations to donors and the public.

What you would be doing

Although you would help support all our efforts in some capacity, we are seeking someone who would be comfortable doing the following tasks:

  • Maintaining and contributing to our Facebook and LinkedIn sites, as well as our website,
  • Assisting with all MCTGA events, such as tabling at festivals, organizing and attending donor parties, and organizing and attending hiking and paddling trips,
  • Helping to coordinate and participate in educational programs,
  • Helping to coordinate and oversee volunteers,
  • Contributing photographs and content for press releases and our newsletter,
  • Maintaining our donor database (Little Green Light),
  • Assisting with our correspondence with donors, such as acknowledgment letters and thank-you cards,
  • Managing the inventory and sale of MCTGA merchandise,
  • Coordinating ticket sales for major events and maintaining accurate attendee lists,
  • Proofreading reports,
  • Receiving emails from the MCTGA general inbox and responding to general inquiries, and
  • Coordinating bulk mailings.

Please note that you would not have to perform payroll or bookkeeping tasks.

Where you would work

Our office is in Jasper. We prefer that you work from the office, but if you find a hybrid arrangement is necessary, we may be open to discussing it.

How you will be compensated

Your work with MCTGA will be compensated in the following ways:

  • Salary: $35,000 to $40,000 depending on skill levels
  • Benefits include: 20 days of paid vacation and health care assistance
